Cardio + weights
I must be very skinny because I spend 3 to 4 hours in the gym every day, IS IT MORE EXERCISE, MORE BENEFICIAL? I understand that we see how famous actresses and singers spend all day in the gym and it is difficult not to compare, but do you really believe that exercising 3 hours a day is more effective than an hour of intense activity? LETS KNOW IT RIGHT NOW: The key to exercise is GETTING THROUGH IT SOMEWHERE in the day. It might be 90 minute DVDs of active yoga, P90X or Insanity, but it may also only give you time to do 30 or 45 minutes and ITS OKAY. The 3 important points to take into account are: 1. The exercise session should not be longer than two hours in a row: it is better to work 30 to 45 minutes intensely 4 to 5 days a week, than millions of hours of low to moderate intensity every day, for example. Training for more than 2 hours begins to secrete cortisol (the stress hormone), which inhibits weight loss by storing fat and water so that the body "survives." 2. Start doing HIIT (High intensity interval training): it is the most effective since anaerobic periods of high intensity alternate with recovery periods of milder intensity. It burns more fat. 3. Cardio counts as a bonus: To speed up your metabolism and burn more fat, cardio is great, but it is NOT enough. You have to do resistance exercises as a base gentlemen! And no more than 2 hours in a row, REMEMBER !!
