Ingredients for 4 units (you can prepare for the whole family because the ideal is to eat one unit if you are taking care of yourself). 5 cups of corn kernels. 1 pinch of stevia. Salt to taste. Banana leaves. Fresh cheese or white cheese to serve. Preparation: The corn is shelled, and ground or blended together with salt and stevia. It should be a smooth, homogeneous dough. The arepas are assembled and grilled on a banana leaf, then flipped onto a new leaf, until they are well grilled on both sides. Optional: They are opened with a knife and white cheese is introduced in small slices (2 max), they are returned to the fire for a minute until the cheese melts and they are served. The ideal: eat a unit. You can also cook them in the pan with PAM spray or coconut oil, or olive oil in its absence.
