Smart supermarket shopping
Today I will give you 4 basic tips when going to the supermarket. We do nothing talking about healthy eating and exercising if we don’t go to the origin of the problem, the basics: “What kind of food do I buy? What are the ingredients I have in my kitchen?”. This is going to determine in large extent what you eat, that is why, it has to be done properly and EFFICIENTLY. I will teach you how to REDUCE your shopping list AND your waistline at the same time: 1. The center aisles will increase YOUR center body fat: more obvious impossible, avoid the center aisles as much as you can and buy in the perimeter of the supermarket (fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meat and fish). 2. Head down: if you have to adventure into de center aisles, look down, the most processed foods, with the worst kind of preservatives, are strategically located at eye level. 3. Always use a cart: a recent study published by the Journal of Marketing Research shows that if you shop with a cart instead of using a basket, you will make more healthy choices. To hold a basket gives more cravings of instant gratification and you will go directly towards trash food and goodies. 4. Here I encompass two key micro tips: don’t go to the supermarket when you are hungry (have your meal first and then go), and don’t go in sweatpants or any style of pijama clothes. Go with your really tight jean, the one which you can’t almost breathe with, in which you wish you could feel more comfortable and loose, and that way you will shop less.
